Christening Dresses,
Informal Gowns & Daygowns
We
realize that not everyone wants a long, flowing formal Christening
gown. The Informal Gowns Department was created for this purpose.
An
informal gown may be chosen for exactly that - an informal Christening
ceremony. Many times it is selected for a Blessing or Dedication
Ceremony when a baptism is not taking place. And yes, they are often
chosen for Naming Ceremonies too!
An
informal gown is also perfect for after a formal ceremony. A Christening
gown or suit can be ruined in quick order passing baby around among
family members through the afternoon - and it's not all that convenient
to take care of baby, either. An informal gown or a pretty
dress or suit is usually selected for this part of the day, helping
keep the Christening outfit safe for cleaning and storage for another
generation's use.
An
informal gown is much shorter - usually around toe tip length and
often called a "Daygown". An alternative to an informal
gown would be a pretty dress or nice romper/suit. The goal is to
still look very special but also be very practical and comfortable.
Don't
forget to take pictures of baby in his/her informal attire too!
You'll never regret having them.
